MEET OUR TEAM

We have been a part of the Partners in Harvest network of churches worldwide. We first started serving people in one of the pastor’s homes in 1995.  Over the years as more people came, the church expanded, moving to different rented locations.  In November of 2012 we moved into our own building with land for future expansion.

Senior Pastor:  Sam Wakefield 

Executive Pastor: Emily Wakefield 

Sam & Emily are the founders of Resting Place.  They have been married for 17 years and have three teenagers.  Sam and Emily love to spend time in the sun whenever they have a chance.  They both have a love for seeking the Holy Spirit and being in His presence. Seeing people getting changed and set free is also a passion or theirs. 

Associate Pastor: Philip Gilbertson 

Philip loves spending time with his 3 grown children and many grandchildren.  He also enjoys taking rides on his motorcycle around Michigan.  Philip has a deep love for Jesus.

Associate Pastor: Joe Ortega

Joe and his beautiful wife Jackie love to travel, play pickleball and spoil their grandchildren.  Joe has a passion for teaching the word and raising others up into their callings.

Pastoral Assistant: Abbie Mancuso

Abbie has an amazing love for the Bible. He likes to connect one-on-one with people and he likes to have deep, Biblical discussions.
